Beautiful long white sands, go for a walk before it gets crowded or too hot. Then later find a shady spot under a pohutakawa tree to lay out your towel and read a good book.

Kayaking along any of the shore line.
If you’re lucky, you might be joined by some dolphins, seals or even the occasional pod of Orca who come into eat stingray. You’ll also get a great view of some of the gorgeous houses that adorn the shores. Kelly feels like he’s in a David Attenborough documentary every time he goes out.

Watching the helicopters come in and out, and the sun go down over the Sky Tower silhouette, beyond Motuihe, with a chardonnay or Pinot Gris in your hand.

There is now a walking track that circumnavigates the whole island. Do just a little piece of it every day.

This lovely little bay is not on the main tourist track, and is very sheltered, perfect for snorkelling.

Best Toasties on the island, and then a great view to enjoy them with. There are picnic tables at the playground near the Palm Beach store.

Enjoy a casual lunch at this fantastic brewery as the kids jump on the giant trampoline.
A movie at the Oneroa Cinema.
An old-style cinema, run by volunteers, with couches, cushions, and an old-school atmosphere.
The Saturday Morning Market at Ostend.
This pop-up market is a must –see on the island, especially in summer when it swells in size. Local artisans, farmers, chefs, local buskers, all 100m from Waiheke Island Motel.
